Beaded Knitting
Come learn two techniques for blinging up your knitting! We will cover how to to incorporate pre-strung beads as well as how to place them with a crochet hook as you knit. You’ll make a fun and comfy knitted bracelet while learning several tips for choosing and using beads for your hand knits. This simple project makes a great gift, and it will give you the confidence to tackle larger beaded knitting projects. Supplies are provided, so bring yourself and a friend or family member!
WHO CAN ATTEND: Ages 16 and up
SKILL LEVEL: Confident beginner and beyond
PREREQUISITES: Students must be able to confidently cast on, knit, purl, increase and decrease, and bind off
WHAT TO BRING:
- Size US 3 (3.25 mm) knitting needles (straight, circular, or DPNs
- Size US 11 (1.1 mm) crochet hook
- Stitch markers
- Scissors or snips
- Tapestry needle
- Glasses or magnifiers if needed (don’t be shy–I’ll be wearing mine)
- Small, portable lamp or light if needed
INSTRUCTOR WILL PROVIDE:
- Beads and yarn for one bracelet
- Bead threader
- Pattern with detailed written instructions
- Lots of hands-on assistance
NOTES: This is an in-person adult (ages 16 and over) class held at Fiber Frolics Studio in Plano, TX.
